Karl Rove outed a CIA agent to the World without any official trial I am aware of but the information released to a blogger resulted in a harsh crack down by the Attorney General’s Office?

********

Exactly what I was thinking, Jack. Keep digging, Jason!

Samuel Shamai Leibowitz leaked some kind of information, possibly concerning illegal government communication monitoring or other whistle blowing activity but we don't know what or why the information was "leaked" because it was classified? All we know is that the plea bargain may result in maybe 20 months in a Federal Prison. I think this has potential to be a great story but you released it prematurely.

“The willful disclosure of classified information to those not entitled to receive it is a serious crime,” said David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. “Today’s guilty plea should serve as a warning to anyone in government who would consider compromising our nation’s secrets.”

This incident smells fishy and I hope you keep digging.

Hi Jason. unfortunately I could not get that because it's still considered classified. Very bizarre. I will likely repost the material that was leaked if I can track it down.

Assuming this is an omission or perhaps a legal restriction, but what was the leaked information pertaining to? Can you provide references (URLs) to the blog posts that were supposedly informed by or contained material extracted from the illegally transferred documents?
