Gov. Mark Sanford: I Won’t Be ‘Railroaded’ Out of Office

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford says he appreciates the lieutenant governor’s offer to take over, but he plans to stay in office.

“A lot of what’s going now is pure politics plain and simple,” said the embattled Sanford.

    Sanford’s political career is finished. Even his circle of friends know that Mark Sanford’s career and reputation is finito. Since his own party and the Lt. Governor pleaded with Sanford to step down and Sanford refuses, I really doubt he will stay in office until his term is up next year. Impeachment of the Governor will be the next step in South Carolina.
