Hi there--the unemployment benefits story is a BIG one--where is your coverage? A few commentators have stated this is a pivotal political issue--as well as being a crucial one for those of us whose benefits have expired. Would like to see how The Public Record would cover it.

Thanks for all your great work!

One of the problems, is that we send soldiers over, so young, and many who have not experienced what death looks like. Put all those weapons in the hand of an 18 year old and at that age, they are not afraid of nothing...but most of them have not seen what death in war looks like... and that includes older adults as well...I know they are trying to debrief these kids...but the military establishment needs to look at not recruiting 17-18 yr olds but wait until at least 21-22--seeing someone blown up does not make one a hero or grown up...losing your life is not the only sacrifice...losing your peace of mind is the biggest sacrifice of all...it is time to bring these kids home and stop recruiting in high schools and colleges.

Hooray for your victory (sort of)! Going against the war machine took an amazing amount of courage and I applaud you and celebrate you for it.
I'm 56 and have protested war by going to rallies since the Vietnam war. My dad called me a communist and I replied, "I'm TWELVE, and I'm Jill."
I hope this set the bar and it keeps raising til the war industry collapses.

I'm a Vet, now living in the Philippines, 11yrs ago met a retired navy guy, he help me start a VA Claim, until now i am still fighting VA, 2002 VA gave me non-service connected medical for chest pain/headache at 70%, which is in my navy medical records due to meds given for Ocular Toxoplasmosis,(blind left eye) due to navy doctor claiming i was just trying to get out of work, eye they 20/35, one year later 20/400. Navy Jag Officer told me to Sue the navy, got civilian atty, who said the navy never heard of the Jag Officer, went to naval air station Alameda and i was never there.
VA does all they can to give us Vets nothing.
