There is a BIG difference between "end of life couseling" and advanced directives. I have an advanced directive and I've had it for 12 years. I also have powers of attorney for both medical and financial. Everyone needs to have them. End of life counseling comes when the patient is older, usually near the end of life, (WOW...must be where the name comes from, eh?,) and will be geared toward letting the patient have no medical procedures to maintain life. Make them comfortable, as long as it does not cost too much, and let them die. So much for Intrepid New Journalism. If you want to be a service to the public, at least get the facts correct first.
