O brother, my Brother David! Thanks for your work. The process you call "Shake the Mohammed" is of great interest to me. I've been calling it "myth-jacking." Maybe "shake the icon" would be more accurate, but I do agree that what we call "disinformation campaigns" are being deployed against us by elements of our own military.

Most importantly, because of the achievements of the Scientific, Industrial and Computer revolutions, we Westerners have no respect for the power of myth, having entirely bought into the myth of the cosmos as a mechanism governed by Newtonian laws of mechanics. In our minds, much like in The Matrix, the cosmos was built by a cosmic tyrant-engineer-architect, and it is governed by his omnipotent force and fiat.

Trouble is, of course, that we are complex biological systems that grow from within. We've been reducing us to fully-automatic mechanisms, just a bunch of god-forsaken dirt, then treating us as such, for so long now, most people think of themselves in terms incommensurate with reality.

IOW, I agree: we are insane.

Just spend some time paying attention to the words you use for organic systems, esp. people, and you'll see how mechanized are our hearts and minds.

In both the major religions of the West, Science and Judeo-Christianist-Islamist, both believe the cosmos to be an artifact, something made, put together from the outside and governed by kinetic activity. In this bizarre belief system, war is natural, it's the very way the world was made to work.

In other words, we're all about very masculine "kinetic activity," to the exclusion of the more feminine kenotic: eg, the power of thin blades of grass to burst through asphalt from within.

This makes of society a perpetual motion bogus holy war cosmic cash machine: Great for concentrating wealth, not so great at "promoting the general welfare."

Our intentions materialize our realities. Who doesn't see the expression of this mythology in society today?

Society today is an updated, upgraded version of feudalism, with our lords of war and finance in full control. War is the way they truly believe the world to have been made by a male war god in favor of males in the "rightful" conquest of all things feminine, especially Mother Nature.

This is why we treat our high priests of the temple of kinetic activity as if they were weathermen. We've utterly conflated military violence with the forces of nature herself.

And our holy wars are the only holy holy wars because that same male war god loves us the most.

For example, you mention Blackwater/Xe. That'd be a good time to introduce Eric Prince's maniacal view of himself as an anti-Muslim Crusader, and the more general perversion of mythology into weapons-grade propaganda.

My point being, o brother my Brother, your writing will be much more powerful, if you ground it in the context of the myth of American Exceptionalism. That's the background out of which arise all your data points, the tie that binds them together like a suture.

After all, there are more things in the world than are dreamt of in strictly APA-style, right?

Also, you've got so much data, how 'bout some links? In-line or as a reference section, they would bolster your case and help us spread the word.

I must say, though, I don't agree with most of your last few sections, esp. regarding the coming of another Timothy McVeigh to New York for the trial of KSM and to seek revenge against Wall Street. The bulk of the article is tight and persuasive, but the sections near the end read more like stream-of-consciousness or blog comment-quality stuff. A little less hyperbole, a little less use of italics, would be more to my liking. But then, I'm an old white dog, with old-school ideas about writing.

Thanks again for your work. I enjoyed reading this, it's very thought-provoking. I look forward to your next piece.

I bow in your virtual direction.
